I can't believe this douche, if you got the time watch this vid. This was the same type of garbage that they trotted out in my Sunday School class when I was a little kid in the 80's, that Motley Crue, Micheal Jackson, Modonna and Twisted Sister were Satan's disciples. I thought that nonsense dyed long ago but is apparently being revived by some Pastor with a Joe Stalin mustache "Pastor" Joe "Stalin" Schimmel. I watched these vids and laughed my ass off, he says all rock music from Elvis to now is Satanic and all the stars sold their souls to the devil. Not deingrating anybody beliefs but this is the reason why I started questioning the belief system that was shoved down my throat. Spandex is of the devil?! Come on he can do better than that!

Ok, as a Christian...rock and roll, metal, or whatever you wanna call it is not of the devil. Its the lyrics that make is that way. An excellent example would be Stryper vs. Crüe. Stryper is a Christian band...but Crüe is big on Satanism...even though I'm not sure they actually worshiped him...I think it was for publicity. Anyways...people who say music like metal, rock, etc., is from the devil...they are wrong. Its the lyrics that make it that way.

Hmmm.. I have been payin' attention to this shit (excuse my french  ) for a while, and I think it's a load of bullcrap. I've been soo interested that I actually got the balls to actually watch the whole damn documentary, cuz this website said that it was a Black Sabbath documentary and not some Christian propaganda. I remember one segment saying that they've exposed Blues God Robert Johnson for his secret loove for the Devil... WRONG, MOTHER FUCKERS! His love for the devil was nothin close to a secret, as he did proclaim it in his songs, and even wrote a song on his guitar "prowess"

I would consider myself a Christian, since I was born and raised within the Catholic Faith. But, when my parents decided to try a Baptist Christian church, I was bombarded with "Spike your hair, and go to hell!" and "Rock is of the devil!" and "Black clothes will seal your fate!" and whatnot, soo I've learned to ignore this bullshit. I'm still interested in their perspective, and respect their commitment to religion, nonetheless.

Yeah guys, your putting it correctly. Though I am not a "Christian" I hold some of the values I was raised with, the rational ones. It was a balance between my dad who was in a glam rock band and my mom who was this big hippie Christian. The church I went to was this freakish hybrid of hippie/Christian cult type deal where my pastor was closer to Jim Jones, I was taught Communist Utopian bullshit, that Ronald Reagan was the anti Christ, and the pop media was the beast foretold in Revelation. My mom took me every Sunday but my dad never went, he just believed in the common sense stuff in the Bible which is a view I hold. I think its not that rock is "Satanic" or "Evil" its competition, music is a spiritual thing and egomaniacs who are more on ego less on God want all the attention for themselves and their chruch body, none put anywhere else. I heard Motley Crue's whole Shout At the Devil thing was a warning against siding with the only Satan that really exists which is inside of ourselves. I don't judge any band by their message Christian or otherwise, if they rock (like Stryper) then their cool in my book. There is good pastors who ignore this drivel and others who are looking for attention like this guy, nothing wrong with having a faith in something higher like I do, its how you handle it, this guy fumbles it miserably. OK I'll get off my soap box now.

I went to church last wednesday and they were preaching about metal music being of the devil and i was wearing a motley crue shout at the devil t-shirt and he made me stand up and show everyone what i was wearing and he said that it was sick and was horroble music and that it brings thousands of teens under satan's power. i told him to fuck off and walked out so i am never stepping foot in that church again

Hell yeah Billy! You tell them, you actually had the rocks to walk in there with that T-shirt?! Thats the greatest story. Like I said it has nothing to do with God or the Devil and all about control and ego. I know Christians that think all this stuff is a sack of nonsense dogshit which it is. Good you won't walk into that re education camp again!

LOL i think this old chestnut will be going on long after we pass, it was the same with Elvis, Cliff Richard, Beatles, Stones etc the list is endless, heck Cliff even had the Christian complainers at him for his Millennium prayer song saying it was the work of the Devil, all it was was the Our Father prayer or rather the Lords prayer sung to Auld Lang Syne and everyone knows that Cliff is a very Religious man, so if they think he's doing the Devils bidding what hope have the rest of us got or our beloved metal/glam bands

Thanks guys i do my best to stand up and shout. Ozzy is the fucking man! Rockers like him, Gene Simmons, Alice Cooper, and Marilyn Manson make jesus freaks shit them selves. He was and still is a fucking rock God and he didn't give a shit what people thought about him either, he did what he loved doing and that was that. Rock stars are entertainers which is what churches don't understand, they here to do the devil's work, they're here to put on a good show for their fans and write music that people can rock out to. No offense to Stryper i love those guys but i can't head bang to electric gospel

I think Billy means back in the day Bl4cFoxx. But Alice is a prime example of how Christians can rock too. I mean the dude still puts out awesome music and he admits it has a Christian message but he doesn't hit you over the head with it. Alice is still his bad self, what Billy means is back in the 70's he got crap from religious people which hurt him because his dad was a pastor at a church. Alice just put on a show but people got offended, in fact "No More Mr. Nice Guy" is about the media and religious groups calling him a Satanist when he really was a believer. In fact Alice had said all his music was about warning people against the devil. Now I am not religious but if you put out good music regardless of what you believe (you could be a freaking commie for all I care) I'd totally respect your talent.

B14cFoxx Some other Christian bands that are good that I listened to back in the day because they were awesome musicians, not because of their beliefs: Stryper of course, one of my all time favorite bands King's X check them out these guys are just damn awesome, Petra is like a Christian Def Leppard in sound only of course I went to this Christian music fest more like dragged to it by my grandparents called "Jesus Northwest" in 1991 in Canada, only to see Petra all the rest of the bands there were awful, DC Talk and their album "Jesus Freak" very good musicians who switched from god awful Christian Rap to hard rock, and last and definitely not least, Steve Taylor, this guy is just incredible and very talented. You see I look to a band's talent on how they play and not the message. These bands have it all over most others.

well if you like those christian metal bands you should check out X-Sinners they are really cool i dig their song rock of ages, But yeah you basically explained what i was saying because Alice got alot of hell because of all that shit. But my point is that people should just keep their fucking mouths shut about metal being of the devil. I mean i don't go around bitching about gospel which now that i think of it i will do that dureing my next gig lol. I mean i am not putting down churches and christians by calling them jesus freaks, i am a fucking baptist so the church i went to they were holy fucking rollers who thought their shit didn't stink and they decided to pick on me because i had on the crue shist, of course they didn't like me any way because my hair went past my ribs and when i cut it they thought i looked so nice....fuck them!

Yeah Billy I went through the same shit. Except my church was full of hippies, it was almost like a creepy cult thing but they hated, I mean hated Heavy Metal and Hard Rock. They sang folk and gospel songs on acoustic guitars and banged bongos, no electric instruments allowed. My mom got mucho heat for having my rocker dad as a husband, in fact the son of a bitch pastor tried to get my mom to divorce my dad because he said we were being led to hell. This is a guy who claimed he had a direct line to God, my church was untraditional to say the least. They took the Bible and interpreted it in political bull shit terms. They were fucking hypocrits, they believed that Russia, Communist Russia at the time was the savior of the world. Gulp! People should just shut up about rock being of the devil, in fact I know alot of Christians who hate rock and plain want to burn at the stake Christian and secular rockers alike. Those are the people who need to keep their traps shut, just because they don't understand it they think its evil and of the devil. If the Christians are right in their interpretation of the devil's existence I think more of these "hate all rock" Christians send more people his clutches than any sin could. Like I said rock has always been competition, they see it as replacing their belief system. Nonsense. It can suppliment their beliefs well, its all ego trip. Rock is not evil, and these people need to take a hike.

Yeah i feel your pain wit the no electric instruments aloud. mine does that shit too, my old sunday school teacher was cool though he played in a glam band as a guitar player and was a singer, s he was my vocal coach for a few months until he left the church because they kept giveing him hell about his tattoos. I can understand bitching about death metal and shit like that because a few of them are satanic but they allways got to shit on bands like, Led Zeppelin, Black sabbath, Skid Row, Motley Crue, Alice Cooper and Kiss. Those bands are not satanic. If i am going to go to hell for listening to music then i guess the devil can save me a spot

Ok, this might be a little off topic but, what you guys have stated it the sad truth...ever notice that Christians are the only kind of people that "shoot down" their own kind? Its pathetic. Also, what you guys have seen as people calling themselves "Christians" are the bad ones, that's not what a true Christian should act like. And, you guys should check out other churches, like my church has a full band of electric guitars, usually two, bass guitar, drums, and cool stuff like that.

RockLibertyWarrior - I'll have to check into Kings X, I've only heard of them. I have Petra's "Definitive Collection" and "Jekyll & Hyde" cd's...but Petra doesn't do much for me, I'll stick with STRYPER!!!

BillyAcid - I have an X-Sinner CD...to me, its just alright. I have their newest called, "World Covered In Blood." But I do agree, I don't care for the "holier than thou" type people. Christians need to treat everyone equal and be a good example...not condemn people. Seriously, how are they supposed to reach out to people if they are condemning people, yelling at them, etc.

Also, a band you guys would probably like is "Main Line Riders." They have the AC/DC type sound and they don't rip them off as much as X-Sinner does. But Main Line Riders have quickly became one of my favorite bands. Their lyrics aren't preachy at all either. Their MySpace is here.

Dude yeah there is Christians that aren't hypocrits, they actually walk the walk. There is some in my family and I have nothing but respect for them and I know there is good churches too with electrical instruments, I know it because my grandparents go to a church like that. In fact the pastor and me at that church discussed Heavy Metal, he loved it in fact, it wasn't the music that he objected to, it was mainly the sex and drugs self destructive life style he had a problem with which is very understandable. I gave up drink and drugs along time ago because its just plain retarded, I can enjoy music with out stimulants thank you very much. The church I went to as a kid was by no means a normal church, where I lived there was and still is alot of hippies. My hometown was rumored to have the most religions packed in one area, this was the 80's and alot of ex hippies lived in my area. My church was a kook church believeing the kingdom of God could only come to earth through political change. Luckily my dad talked some sense in to my mom and we stopped going when I was around 11. My grandparents church isn't too bad, I've wore my leather jacket, my dio shirt, my ripped jeans and boots with no criticism which is cool. Like I said I see some value in the good book, I just don't believe everything in it is literal, its like a gun, a gun can be used for hunting and defense but in the hands of a idiot it can be deadly like the above vid. I should check out "Main Line Riders" if you say their cool dude I should check them out. Yeah I like Stryper way better than Petra, Petra is more poppy but their awesome musicians, Stryper's just got that edge though that Petra lacks. Dude please check out King's X their very very under rated, they were near breaking in to the main stream in the early 90's but I suggest "Gretchen Goes to Nebraska", "Out of the Silent Planet", "Faith Hope and Love" and "Dogman" all albums ranging from 1988 to 1993. In fact "Dogman" was produced by O'Brien who produced Jackyl's album and Pearl Jam's(ick!). If and when you do check them out give me your honest opinion and tell me they aren't one of your favorite bands too!

Yo Main Line Riders sound pretty cool, i looked at their page and i like them i sent them a request but i am pretty sure they won't add me if they saw my page lol But what you said is true christians shouldn't condem people, it's just not a really christian way. I found myself a new church with my friend and they're pretty cool i got a lot of grief for the way i dress which i deserved because i forgot to take off my eye liner and my friend neglected to tell me, so people were stareing. But this one is alot better they are more on acceptance than condeming people. RockLibertyWarrior King's X is a great band i own Faith Hope and Love, i don't have Dogman but i would like to buy it and yeah they are a very underrated band but they have talent. I don't plaan on getting saved any time soon though because i love my rock n roll life style and if i get saved that means i would have to quit right? I don't do drugs but idrink on occasion and my music is anything but christian, all though i don't curse God in any of my songs. Being a christian is something i am rather new at because i have only been one for two years, i used to not beleive in anything. But like i have said i like the bible, i beleive in God, i go to church but i can't stand people pointing their fingers at me and my type of music.

No. You don't have to quit your rock n' roll life style. Only the negative parts involved in it, like the premarital sex, and drugs. There are some things that people let slide like smoking, drinking, and swearing. But I personally won't do any of it. But if you guys want any help with anything like that or questions...just PM me or something. :D
