Yeah don't listen to those fuckers because they're the ones who have the issues when it comes to they're music and dress style. I'm with ya about the confidence thing because it took me a while to get some confidence in myself and I had to win a few fights at school for people to actually respect me. Just like today when I wore black lipstick and black eyeliner to school , sure I got made fun of but I think they're just jelous because they don't look good enough to do the glam thing. And they're fucking retarded if they don't like our style of music!

i dont give a fuck what other people think! my philosophy is if you have a problem with me, go away because if you really had a problem with me you would hate me enough not too give me the energy that you do criticizing me everyday. SO THEREFORE,i just say fuck you and go along with my bussiness and show it dosnt bother me. confidence is the key ingredient. i wore these spandex silver mettallic leggings the other day and i acted like i didnt care if somebody gose holy shit! whats on your legs? creepy!

Right on Metal Sister! Fuck emo and rap to the musical hell they deserve, I get shit from all the wiggers and shit kickers all around town. I could really give a good shit what those brainwashed, mall Zombie, creepzoids think and I am the freak? Isn't not thinking and dressing for yourself kind of freakish and I am the freak?! It shows how they don't have any self esteem when they insult you because their insecure about the way they dress and think about themselves. Don't give them any mind, their sad, small people, who are scared of anything that isn't "mainstream" or "with it". Don't get pissed, just feel sorry for them!

Yeah I am as cocky as a mother fucker, I don't give a shit if what I say pisses people off or offends them. Of course I don't go out of my way to offend people on purpose, but when I speak my mind I have no filter. I walk down the street like I own the world and barely anybody messes with me to my face, I only get drive by comments, but those people I laugh at because they won't get out of their cars and say it to my face. They won't because I do look scary 6'2", muscular, chains, studs, ripped jeans, motorcycle boots, I'll tear motherfuckers up. Mickmars is right you have to exude cocky son of bitch and people will sense that like a animal senses a predator, then they won't dare mess with you that much.

    A fuckin men.

And the comments are pretty much all the same.

For once in my adult life I'd like to hear an original insult.

Especially as I *know* it takes extreme intelligence to really be cruel and abusive....

Yeah it's a little messed up that in this in age we are still judge by our appearance. It's crazy people would never guess I like glam and they assume I like that 'soft' light music. They just don't know what I look like outside of the office :)

I have been told that I can dress in any "style" and still look that way, oddly I dress to be comfy, I do not dress for anything else........which on the judge note: pisses me off too.

I agree. It stinks. I have a friend who is a 1st grade teacher. This summer, she put a huge hot pink streak in her hair, just for fun. When school started again, she had to take it out because she received some comments from parents that were negative. Come on. It's just hair!!

I have been judged for tons of things in my life and the best advice I could give is to turn the cheek. Sometimes it takes a bigger person to walk away, but yes it still does suck sometimes.

It sucks to be judged based on how you look. That's why I try to not judge others. You gotta look however is going to make you feel good about yourself. Don't try to dress down and pretend you're something you're not. And you really shouldn't let other's opinions matter. Live and let live.

    About "scene people".

Unless I'm mistaken here......"Scene" styles derived from emo and goth....Gothic style came out of the punk rock movement........Last I checked, the whole idea of the punk rock movement was defying authority and at least trying to be individualistic ...(although its hard to aargue that for wanting to be individualistic, often punk became more or less its own "alternative" uniform...)

Its sad when people,no matter what their age, don't know a bit of the history behind it,and cannot appreciate some comonality but would rather nitpick on some fine points of fashion.

(I get dissed by "decizens if the ghetto".Meanwhile if they had more sense they'd haffta realise some aspects of my alterna/glam/whateverthefuck style definitely has some elements akin to "ghetto fabulous"!HellOOO.I have seen more than a few of the hoochie mamas in their videos.LMAO)

I don't find emos to be all that bad, at least not in Brisbane. They're fun to hang out with if I'm bored one night and just feel like hangin around Queen Street with the emos and goths. Then wander around South Bank and scare people!
Okay, so their musical taste greatly differs from mine, but they're alright.

I am trying to familiarize myself with some current music, you know, find new stuff I might like.

Partly to not sound "old" when I'm around the younger cute guys....I love Hawthorne Heights, for instance.(And I don't know quite how to categorize that band anyway).

I know I like industrial music better than goth, for the most part.I find it more exciting.

I go to clubs, and half the time I don't know who it is they're playing. If I really love something,I'll find out.

I think its important to be hip to current musics (at least find stuff you like,I'm not saying to learn all the gangsta rap CRAP) to stay "relevant" and to stay "young".

I really do not mind any type of people but those who waste their life complaining, rather than changing kind of get my panties in a bunch (and just for the style factor here, today is boy briefs, they are comfy and they look cute with my buns in them...too bad I can not find some glam ones though).

I like Hawthorne Heights too, but sometimes the screamo nonsense can get on my nerves. I quite like HIM as well. I guess Hawthorne Heights and HIM would be the only emo bands I can really get into.

The emos and goths I've met and hung out with and such really aren't all whiny and bitchy like most people think. They know how to have fun! I'll admit some of them do bitch about their parents and stuff sometimes, but don't all teenagers? I'm a teen and I often find myself complaining about my mother and my brother and my annoying classmates.
