I think this would be a good thread.talk about if u loved it,hated it,still attending, where,if u graduated(and when),cliques, brags, sports, clubs, etc.basically,it'll help tell more about u on this forum.for me,high school pretty much made me.as a freshman,I had already played football for 6 years, and had decided that I wanted to play in the nfl, haha.so my freshman year,I got into the whole high school football "Friday night lights" thing.loved it.now, this was before I was glam, mind you.being a freshman on the football team gave me a hell of an advantage over any freshman guy not playing football.it made me untouchable to hazing.senior football players became my friends and when u got seniors watching ur back,u got life good, haha.I ended up playing only 1 more year after that cuz the coaches were unbelievably biased.also,my freshman year,I got into the school musical and it was Cinderella, where I was the understudy to the main guy character, the prince.if u already kno it,they made a movie of it called Rodgers & Hammersteins Cinderella.which stars jason alexander of seinfeld, and I wanna say its Brandy as cinderella.the movie was the exact script.good movie if ya want to watch it.well,if ya like musicals.but anyway,I ended up doing the school play all 4 years, more or less playing leads.by the time I graduated,I had my heart set on an acting career.that ended up falling thru, haha.so,going back to my junior year,I didn't play football,so wat did I do instead??? I painted my body for every football game home and away and became locally famous as the "purple and white guy"(our team colors).it was a fun time.I even got on the radio for it,it was insane! I was the real deal, using ACRYLLIC paint.and I have a hairy chest,so it sucked dick peeling that shit off in the shower.I was a crazy person, haha.I also did that my senior year.only one too.no one would agree to do it with me,haha.it won me the "most school spirited" award my senior year,so it was cool.for all 4 years,I was in Wind Ensemble(band)(percussion) and chorus(tenor 1)(the high shit, haha)and got into the illinois all-state chorus my junior and senior year.also, something that is crazy,is that I was in wat is called,Showchoir.or for anyone who has watched the show Glee.the show makes it look sooo fucking gay,but for Manteno Illinois, being in showchoir is considered cool.Manteno Magic,we were called.there's some shit up on youtube for anyone who wants to check it out.we weren't a sports oriented school.we were known for our music program.so everyone and their brother was in band or chorus, haha.well,my senior year I was voted Homecoming King and was the Vice President of my class, which makes it my job to put together the class reunion, which is gonna suck dick to do.not lookin forward to that, haha.the month that I graduated,I was one of the people in charge of putting the graduating class video together(cuz I was one of the only ones to know how to work editing equipment).I put all 80s metal music in it,and the day before graduation, someone came in and changed all the music to carrie underwood and the fray, saying that no one would wanna hear my kind of music, hahaha.fucking dickheads.I was pissed.I kno I have mentioned it somewhere else on this site, that I didn't start liking glam until my junior year,so at that time I was still a noobie, haha.I graduated manteno high school Class of 07 with a 4.8 gpa out of 5 and it was for no reason at all cuz I didn't end up going to college.fuck that whole "learning" thing, haha.I pretty much got good grades by cramming a whole lot.and some cheating involved.its really cool to have a good short term memory, haha.but even at one point, one of the football coaches once said that to fail at Manteno, means u r really fucking stupid, hahahaha.its that easy to pass there!!! Anyways, well I hope u all learned a lil somethin about my backround.I basically loved the whole hanging out with friends, good times,an basically the entire "social" part of it.I could have done without all the "learnin" shit tho, haha.good times.I really hope we get some good responses on this topic.even if it is to go on and on about how much u hate it. Tell us about urselves!!

Well, I am currently a Sophomore in High School. I play football, I have a love / hate relationship with it. But most importantly I am a musician, and football has nothing on that.
There's not much else to know about me other than I am a Christian.

- Dashthe only two things i loved were lunchtime and hometime...
i had to learn stuff that is totally useless to me now.... if they had taught me stuff that would be useful to me then i might not have hated it so much.

I love school! Its crazy.
I dont do football, my school endeavours are-
Skipping class
Vandalism
Fighting
Chasing junior girls
Vandalism
StealingOur registration class is my favourite time - we drive the teachers so fucking nuts!!! All out reg teachers leave from stress. Every time we get a new teacher we make bets on how long they'll last. We're usually not far off.
This teacher now is awesome though, I sing her praises constantly. She's pure gold, I swear. She doesn't take shit, but she does it in the really class way. Like, not in a strict way.

I went to a shit High School, it was one of those inner city high schools with closed campus rules and typical street punks hanging around the hallways and outside spray painting dildos and stuff. I did alot of skipping with random girls I met during the school year. I did two years there then went home-schooled then graduated 6 months before everybody else.

Back when I was in high school we wrote on stone tablets...
Just kidding...
I graduated in '87(should've been '86, but I did a LOT of skipping one year and didn't have enough credits to move on). I hated/liked it. But when I pick up my kids from school nowadays I thank God I was in high school when I was! I feel bad for my kids.
THE GOOD: I met the dudes I played in bands with at school, I met all my girlfriends at school, I had my most memorable sexual encounter at school.
.. Glam metal was in its prime when I was in school, so it was common to see Crue, Poison, KISS & Scorpions T-shirts!
THE BAD: The daily grind drove me up a wall! The power-hungry teachers & principals pissed me off daily. I had to deal with dickhead jocks & their stuck-up bitches. I HATE jocks!! Most of them are now fat or cops(so they can still intimidate everybody I'm sure), or both.
MEMORABLE MOMENT: With the No Pass/No Play policy we had in school & my grades being below passing at the time, the band I was in couldn't play the 'Senior Follies', a school talent show. So we talked to this A+ student named Nick M. into letting me use his identity to sign up for the show. He said okay, as long as it wouldn't get him in trouble.
So for the show, I was introduced as Nick M.; I'm in the program as Nick M. on keyboards, etc., etc.
BUT OUR BAND GOT TO PLAY!(And I got the tail afterwards -- NOT Nick M. So it was cool.
) Our band played covers of The Cars' "Moving in Stereo" & INXS' "Don't Change". It was a blast.

My experience of high school was similar to yours Dash, I totally loved it. My rep was made as a freshman, had seniors at my back, and was invited to all the best parties. I was in school same time as SIXX-Again and the teen culture was heavy metal, hot rods, Alpine car stereos, cruising and keggers (similar to Dazed and Confused but with better parties). We would go to abandoned campgrounds and lakes in the middle of nowhere and party all night without ever getting busted, even cranking car stereos with the trunks open wouldn't draw the coppers and we'd build bonfires on the beach. There were occassionally concerts nearby, saw a friends band open for Nugent once in Mankato, Minnesota of all places (weird, I thought they were messing with me at first). My first major concert was at 14, beginning of freshman year, saw Axe open for Maiden and Priest (Screaming for Vengeance tour). Parking lot parties were always awesome, one of my friends was so drunk he fell off our van. Am I totally harsh for thinking that was hilarious (laughing), it isn't like he felt it! Taking road trips to concerts in Minneapolis was pretty much a tradition for a lot of people in my school so you'd see concert shirts in the halls but nothing glam, only a few guys even had long hair (which, needless to say, sucked ass). I have a funny story, but I'd love to hear all of yours, so first I have to ask:
What is the funniest thing that happened to you in high school?
So heres my story, and anyone that was stuck growing up in the middle of nowhere should be able to relate (atleast to the part that isn't totally extreme and out there). I spent years attracted to the people I saw on album covers and magazines and videos but they didn't even exist where I lived. Then came the day when everyone showed up to school dressed as the opposite gender (did any of you have school spirit dress up days?) I'm walking down the hall and I suddenly see walking towards me one of the serious hotties in school that usually looked like a conservative jock, but he was all covered in full makeup and a long haired wig, looking incredibly beautiful. The next thing I knew we were making out at my locker, but when he stepped back to ask if I just wanted to take off I realized he was wearing this hideous old lady dress! Well that was just way too much! I said some other time, finished at my locker, and joined a small group of other late people walking back to class. So as we're walking down the deserted hallways we suddenly hear this sexual moaning sound that kept getting louder as we neared the boysroom near the auditorium (it was this cavernous area with echoing acoustics) that must have carried really far cuz we then saw a teacher running towards us from the area where classrooms started, and you should've seen the look on his face! So as we're laughing our asses off talking about the Fast times at __________High and saying can you believe this is even happening the sounds of sex suddenly become a voice moaning MY name! At that point it became rather obvious who was in that bathroom and what was really going on in there! If you think about it, that makes it even funnier. I wish I could've seen the visual of the teacher yelling at him in that bathroom as he came out of the stall in that hideous dress!
Well I hope I've amused all of you, you have to keep entertained (laughing)

Oh man I loved high school. It was one big party to me. But I went to one of the most insane schools ever.
I was the long haired kid who always sat in the back row. I'd usually be drawing cool Motley & G n’R logos on the desk or flicking through the latest Metal Edge mag instead of listening to the teacher. I always wore metal shirts to school too. Offending dickhead teachers with my tshirts was the norm. The ones they seemed to hate the most were the WASP 95Nasty shirt with the girl squatting on the back, Slayer “Root of all Evil” shirt and G n’R Appetite “rape scene”. Don’t know what their problem was.
I remember actually smoking in the boys room and having that song in my head while doing it. If I was in trouble I’d usually have WASP’s School Daze in my head.
I went to a real tough school, it was the place they sent you to if you had been expelled from every other school in the area. We took anyone in. I always remember my first day of high school because on that first morning we found out that some kids had broken into the school overnight. They had killed some birds nearby and decided to splatter the music room walls with mangled bird parts. That morning they had the whole music block closed off and the police were there. Later that same day a huge riot broke out amongst the older students. I remember just seeing guys fighting everywhere, rocks were getting hurled through the air, people were running, some were bleeding, a few girls were crying and then I heard a huge smash and looked over to see that someone had just thrown a steel waste bin through one of the top story class windows. I think I just stood there thinking “fuck, if this is my first day then what the fuck is gonna happen tomorrow?” True story!Funniest school story…
I had a teacher who was a real dick that would give me a hard time for no reason. I finally got him back one day. We were learning about credit cards & other forms of plastic money. This teacher gets out his own cards out of his wallet and passes them out to us students just to have a quick look at and then pass around while he’s writing some notes on the board. Every time one of the teacher’s cards came around to me I would quickly write down all the card details before passing the card along. That afternoon I raced home with revenge on my mind. I pulled out all the credit card info and then one by one I rang up the banks & stores and reported them all as stolen.
Wish I could’ve seen his face the next time he tried to use any one of his cards to pay for something.http://www.myspace.com/trashbrat Hated By Millions...Loved By All.Posted 1 year ago # -
hahahaha the first years of high school sucked for me. I went to a hell Hick/redneck high school where kids DID actually wear cowboy hats and drive around in utes with Bundy rum stickers on it! Through 8-10 I was that fat loner kid who sat in the corner and got paper thrown at me cos i wore BLACK "oohhhh so scary" i liked heavy metal music. Then for some reason in year 11-12 people started sucking up to me and thinking i was really cool for some reason it made my time alot easier haha. I had a small group of friends but mostly little emo kids who didnt know what the hell is was on about haha. School was meh, wouldnt go back, didnt teach me a single thing, nor would it when your text books are from 1940 (true fact) and the buildings hadnt had a single touch up since 1967 AND your teachers had actually taught your MUM when she was in high school...yeah another true fact haha.

have to wake at 6:00 AM and use uniform! and it is fuckin' horrible, and early in the morning i can't make my hair look good...
at school it's like there is three long haired man, one is me, the other is an geek-metalhead, and the other is an headbanger, among 700 students. the worse is that, beside some of my friends and those two other long haired man, everyone doesn't like hard rock or rock in general, so we are like mutants or sorta.
But isn't everything bad, my grades aint the worst and i like the classes of phylosophy, arts and History.
The funniest thing that happened to me is that on my second day of class i went in the wrong classroom, on the second years classroom and i didn't realized it, only later i realized: "Where are my friends?", and then I revealed to everyone and i ran to my classroom, it was very funny, altough not for me.Posted 1 year ago # -
^^ That credit card story is awesome. I don't think I ever got revenge on any of my teachers.
Freshman year was my first year ever at a public school for me. There I stood; ripped jeans, clash shirt (I had since the seventh grade, very vintage looking now), blue hair, and studded belt. I was pretty carefree with my appearance, to say the least I physically embodied Nancy Spungen. I was much more into the punk scene at that point.
I don't remember too much from my school "daze", I remember I HATED IT. There was absolutely no one who dressed like me, I didn't like the friends I had, and I remember some kids were so fucking wierd they wore clip on fox tails.
The majority of my day I spent hanging out at the skate park where all kinds of shit goes down, in fact so much shit goes down there they wrote a movie about it and banned it in the US. Ken Park. Check it out. I guess the highlight of that was I started my own piercing and diy tattoo business at school. Kids would pay me to pierce there bellys or ears. Very stupid idea now that I think about it.
Apparently my parents didn't agree with my grades. All F's even in gym since I prefered not to dress out because boys would make fun of me. (Every kid goes through a heavy stage) They also didn't agree with my attitude so it was either being sent off to a group home er go to private school again. So I chose private school which got out a month and a half before other kids.
Sophmore year I got stuck going to a dick school on a college campus. But instead of being a trouble maker and being open about it, I just kept to myself. I focused on studying for my CHSPE (california highschool proficency exam) and now I have graduated school at 16. SO if anybody hates school defilently try to test out. Best choice I ever made. Now Im attending beauty school as the youngest student they ever had C:Posted 1 year ago # -
stumbled upon these on youtube.didnt even kno they existed, haha.here's a couple vids of my 2007(senior year) of the Illinois All-State Chorus, which again,is the top highschool singers throughout the state of IL.theres so many dif schools represented, hence the dif colors.each color is its school colors.except for mine, which is like a retarded banana yellow thats been a tradition at manteno high school for years i guess.our real school colors r purple, white, and black.our director never did tell us y we were the only school not to wear our colors...no vids on youtube of my 2006 year tho sadly, which was the better year of the 2.waaaay better songs that year...now these arent my vids,so its not me that the camera is on,haha.thats just some fat deushbag, "don vito" from viva la bam lookin kid, haha.but these kinda give u the idea of how amazing it sounded, singing in this chorus.this first one actually shows me for a brief moment from 1:56-1:57.im in the yellow robes with purple collar.yea,i had short hair, ahahaha:
this second one is really short, but kinda retarded cuz these kids arent even doing the moves right, haha.fucking morons:
and this last one is just a gospel-like song.the director that year is natively from africa and he wanted to write his own arrangement to an existing song.so i hated it cuz i hate gospel, but the ending is just so incredible,so powerful.we really kicked some ass on it:

I graduated high school in 1989. Sort of ... I hated school. The teachers were pricks and school bored me to tears. So id cut classes. I cut so many I didnt get my diploma at graduation , I had to take lots of classes over that summer and into the early autumn to get my diploma. But I did it.

Well i guess afterall your lucky in america
Here in Italy we have five years of high school we can't choose classes, you have to learn a 9 month long program, or ur turned down, then we have only 2 hours of sports aweek and no music at all...
And the teachers are bastards, the thing i hate more is when they try to get the finger in your life, last year my italian teacher was sure that i was a drug addict, and i took a lot of shit.
The most memorable moment i remember is when we were setting the class on fire, or when the police arrested one of our teachers, for takin advantage on prostitution...
He had his own whore house and all the bitches...Posted 1 year ago # -

There were only maybe 4 of who were metal/ rockers in school when I went wed stay in our own group like the jocks and cheerleaders. Never went to dances or sports. We just didn't give a damm. I worked, had a newspaper delivery route as a kid, then had a job delivering court supoenas. So all through the 80s id go to concerts. The day after some show the jocks would always br assholes. Razzing me and the others how crue or how lame rock is , they all seemed to be into that new wave shit or soul. Gawd i got so damm sick of that herbie hancock song. Managed somehow to
survive the whole break dancing fad and. The thriller album phase. Never saw the talent in mj anyways.Ill never forget getting told to turn whatever concert shirt I had on that day inside out or go home since someone was offended. Best was that guns n roses shirt with the chick , panties down , a tittie hanging out. Ok, I went home. Wasn't going to take my new tour shirt off for anybody. Never went home tho, there was always somebody under the football bleachers getting stoned. Id go there, smoke a bit and go play video games at the pizza place up the street. Thoes were the days .... jamming the new theatre of pain album stoned out of our friggin minds. I was around 16 years old when Crue came out with the theatre of Pain album. ( BTW Two of thoes people are dead today )
Another day I may go into how badass all thoes concerts really were
