    hello,
im gonna get straight to the point here this is something that has not happened before with my gyuitar ever......
i know for a fact that my nut is gettin worn but its still usable and will see me through until about october time but as of end of last week the 6th string dcided it doesn't wanna be nice to me anymore and now it is a problem when tuning and playing.... mainly when tuning but sometimes when playing it sounds right out of key and almost like its hitting the frets which as you will probably know doesnt sound great , it always seems to sound too loose or something although i tune for hrs trying to get the damn thing right...

it has occassional good days where it works without a problem but i would just like more guitar players thoughts on this?

    no future for me!

There's a whole bunch over on Groups -
    Mr Scary Group for Guitarists

    Group 4 Glam Guitarists

As you have such a question for a specific audience, I suggest that you join one of these groups (or both if that seems the right thing to do) and post your question in Group Forums.

For my 2 cents, you could consider a change of strings as I've heard of nuts being cut too deep but I've never heard of a worn nut! Gosh, you've got plenty of mid 50's working strats out there with their original nuts.
