The music the most and the way of dress. Its about being creative. Unlike other groups, they all look the same. For example at my school I hang out with the metalheads and thrashers. They all have the exact same band shirts, with the exact same denim jackets, exact same leather jackets, exact same patches on their jackets, exact same belts, nearly identical looking pants and nearly identical high top Nikes and/or Reeboks. They all look exactly the same, im the only one who stands out.

The guitar solos, the freedom they sometimes present. Of course the style... And the music... I can't be sad while listening to it!

Guitar solos... self-expression, the "fun" attitude... melody... BIG stacked vocal choruses... there's a LOT I really like about this genre.

The MUSIC -first and the look a very close second. The fact that the music was FUN even when the subjects were on the serious side. Look at "18 and Life": Every cover band I've seen play this one gets the bar going -- and that's a ballad about a juvenile delinquincy!

Today's metal is bitching to bitch--'cause that's what's acceptable nowadays. Glam bands didn't play their music to be cool--they MADE the music cool.

The sheer excess of perpetual rockstardom and the Glam Lifestyle even at the pit end. Thats what gets me, even a bit more than the music. I love the speed of life Glam deliveres, and how it doesn't slow down for anything but death, which doesnt even come around that often.

The frivilance of the music, the origionality, the variety! Its quite fantastic. I love the Finesse of the players, too. From the unforgettable flamboyance of David Bowie, to the whimiscal mystery of Marc Bolan, from he arrogant swagger of David Coverdale, to the unwavering energy of Iggy Pop, from the leather-clad tomboyishness of Suzi Quatro, to the sexy audacity of Nikki Sixx. Its fantasitc.

And ofcourse, the style! Glitter, Leather, Gold, Tigerstripe - its all fantasitc! I LOVE aviators, talls boots and makeup. I love sprayed up hair and bandanas, and I love jewlery. I love that Glam makes it possible for a boy to access hairspray, tall boots, makeup and jewlery without looking like a transvestite - or looking like a transvestite if he chooses to do so. I love the trasy girls, I love the classy girls. I love the torn clothes and I love the tight clothes. Its great, great stuff.

And the people in Glam are usually awesome. I mean, look at the people on this website!!!

the feminism (sp?) of the look some of these guys had. I love guys that look like girls. I'm not into the whole ultra sporty super short hair look.

    Everything really.

Narrowed down the style really is what does it for me, you've got to make a little effort, no one wants to look like airbourne with the "I only have one outfit" look.

the music is still important though, glam is just the best form of music ever

I love the way that everything is developed to it's maximum!
(And of course the life-is-fun philosophy.)

Amazing guitar solos and vocals, lyrics just as long as thay should be, and what ever they're about, you can really feel them...
The performance is stunning and the style is just hotter than hell.

Glam is all about fun & having a good time. If you look around you a lot of the pop artists are borrowing from glam bands especially in their big choruses. Plus glam had an identity

yeah, the main and the general thing i love about it it's the way it sounds, then the whole attitude, the psychology, the main idea of it, the styles, the oppurtunity to express yourself just the way you are... i really love everything about it. Cause it's not just music, it's much much more..

It was always the music first, but it has always represented freedom of expression. I believe it represents freedom and more intellectual enlightened way. I feel there is something more of the artists personality and feeling and raw emotion to the art. I think that Glam Metal was the pinacle of artistic expression and did much more than entertain. We were going to change the world. I think we did.

From my experience...the energy and spirit of the music, the rock and roll attitude, not taking yourself too seriously, not being afraid to express yourself, having nothin' but a good time, the sexy style, and of course the fact that most glammed up guys make irresistible eye candy ;)
