You got the mojos to do what your audience ends up loving you for (exactly what you stated, so many are pansies now its SICK). Good music, amazing clothes, nice body's to look at (hey that doesn't hurt at all!), and being true always, to yourself and your fans. Otherwise its just some crap that is mass produced like the crap on the radio now.

I'll tell you something. Reading quotes like these and drinking orange juice at the same time is not a good thing to be doing. The OJ is running out of my nose right now and my eyeballs feel like they've been dipped in acid. The corrosive type.

Back to topic, it means androgyny to me.

Just the other day, I was driving along and stopped at the cross walk for a 'person' to cross the street. It was broad daylight.

There was nothing unusual about this person but upon closer inspection, I could not determine if they were male or female and I'm like 9 feet away.

It was a beautiful thing.

Glam to me is all about confidence, over indulgence, not being afraid of who you are and most importantly rock n roll. Its carefree, none of this angst and being depressed (well maybe slightly in the power ballads but i can live with that). Not to mention guitar solos and guys in eyeliner (my little weakness lol).

I'm not sure what Glam Rock is. When I became a Sweet fan way back in 72/73 it wasn't known as Glam at all. Yeah the artists of the time all wore glitter and tons of makeup, and everyone had long hair and high healed shoes and bright clothes, but to us it was just pop music, plain and simple. It wasn't until the likes of Twisted Sister came on the scene in about 1983 that I first heard the term Glam Rock, so I don't really think of myself as being a Glam Rocker as such. Its more to do with liking the music of the early 70's, upon which it seems to me the later Glam Rock stuff is based.

Life isn't a dress rehearsal.

Glam is wearing more makeup than all your aunts combined and still looking bonified BADASS! It's a totally independent attitude that would look so uncool if everyone sporting it didn't totally believe in it.

i think that glam is definitely an ex post facto term like alot of things. music usually tends to be categorised later. i suppose it's possible that in many a future year glam and hair and sleaze could be given a new name as to how it's viewed by that generation.

What it means to me, is forgetting the problems of everyday life and returning to the mind set I had when I first started listening to this music. I find myself more and more involved in it, and each day that I do that, I seem to get more happy and carefree.

Like you Lori, everyday i seem to become more involved and knowledgeable about the music i love dearly.. It helps me relax, whenever i'm bummed or stressed out, a little music always settled my nerves.. it's an exciting, dangerous, out of the normal excape for me

Living high, having a good time, a lifestyle, being a SOB when you have to, it is philosophy, having your own mind, ripping emotions from your soul, giving every cultural clone out there a big middle finger fuck you, living to the extreme and ripping through it all. To me it is the essence of real Rock n' Roll. What Little Richard and Elvis preached in their day, what the Stones, Beatles and Yardbirds skull fucked the public with, and of course right on down to now. I could add more but that would take forever.
