I like SIXX:AM, and I really did'nt expect it to sound like Motley Crue simply cause its not but I still consider it a strong release. It's like when Motley put out the self titled album in '94 I didnt think it would sound like Motley cause its not Vince on vocals but I think its one of Motley's best.

i love nikki sixx, and Sixx:AM is a def a different direction, but I think it fit his book really well. his book makes me never want to touch a needle in my life. I got to meet him at the book signing in NYC, super rad guy

i thought the book was really good. in fact im about to start reading it again. he is my favorite songwriter. Sixx:AM is good. not anywhere near motley by any means but they are not a bad band at all.

- WhyteChocl8ah no. that is NOT one of Motley's best. actually i think that Motley Crue and New Tattoo are the worst. i like only one song that i can think of off the new tattoo album but thats about it

Well, I guess it is time to go to the library. I can't afford to buy it these days, but I have a library card! My younger sister (She is 25) and graduating from college as an elementary ed. major on May 10th, got into glam because of me. She got into drugs when I moved away and wasn't as available in her life. She is clean now. I'm proud of her. When I mentioned Nikki's book to her she was really excited. I don't think she thought anyone ever talked about it except at NA meetings. I'm going to get it for her for her grad. present. We were able to talk about it for a bit at my daughter's 5 year b-day party. I remember how it was for us to find out she was using. It was right after Dani was born. I had to tell her that if she needed to talk, if she needed a friend, I was there. If she was going to stay messed up though, she wasn't allowed to see my daughter. I know it hurt her, because it hurt me. I want to blame her boyfriend, but, I guess that I blame myself for failing her. I hope that heroin diaries will help her find a few answers, and let her know that we were there for her and that she was never alone no matter how much she felt like she was. I never did much more than smoke pot, and, it was no trouble to quit. (Cigarettes are another story) I love what I've heard of SIXX: AM, and yes, they are not Crue. I must point out however, that at least for this old fart, part of enjoying Crue is reliving the memories associated with those songs. I spent over 10 years not following the genre, when I found it again, I couldn't get enough. It was like being 18 again at the Crue concert in Tulsa, OK. (Ragged out jeans, Black turtleneck, jean vest with buttons and patches everywhere, hair to die for (it was naturally curly and I could get my bangs to stand 6 in high without the Aquanet LOL) It was a great time, it returned many great memories, but I love the fact that those people I worshiped BIT Day are clean now. There is a depth to them that wasn't apparent then. That or I'm just getting to f*cking old and need to shut up. Money may have been the reason he wrote it, but, personally, I don't think it was. Does anyone have an opinion on his new clothing line?

I don't think much of it is true. His notes that he has written now underneath what he has written give a greater insight into his life I think. Ie. Nikki says he had to do all the work with Vince on his vocal and then Vince says underneath that Nikki was shooting up the whole time in the bathroom of the studio and that he only listened to Tom Werman. So I think there is a hell of a lot of bullshit in there. Especially that Sixx admits at the start that there was a lot missing

I did think there was something a little suspicious about the whole thing..
Great read either way! Sixx AM is great too, wish they played in the UK

I got mine used on Amazon.com for about $17, but I'm having a lot of trouble reading it because of the colors of text and pages. LOL I'm hoping I can manage to eventually read the book. I love Sixx:AM though. I bought the CD through iTunes and listen to it as often as I can.

As far as Nikki's book and SIXX:AM's music, I love them. They are a real inspiration to those who are struggling with similar difficulties. I haven't been there personally, but, I know my sister really got a lot out of it.

sixx:am is alright - some of the songs im not crazy about. the lrics are fine but the music and singing arent my cup of tea.
at any rate, loved his book! i couldnt put it down. its going to sound lame (maybe) but he really does have a way with words. (yep, it sounded lame lol)
and ive already bought my ticket to crue fest - hurray!

I actually just got done with Heroin Diaries..I couldn't put it down either..really made me look at him in a whole different way..I was a huge Motley fan back around that time..still like them... just can't believe the life he had..wow..I was amazed..
Whatever!!Posted 3 years ago # -
I love "Shut The Fuck Up" by his band Brides of Destruction. I think Nikki is awesome. He's still rockin his trademark hair (at least a variation of it) and that earns him mad cred points!
Posted 3 years ago # -
Anything that says "Shut The Fuck Up" is good for me. And I am peeved at my sister for calling me up to tell me she got the book for me and was mailing it then decided to keep it for herself. Anyone with a good link to purchase online for a decent price?

The new music is really good in my opinion, but I have yet to read his new book. Maybe I will luck out and find a copy at the library, but somehow I kinda doubt that happening as awesome as it may be
Otherwise I suppose I could just check the bookstores, but I think it's only available in hardcover.
Posted 3 years ago # -
Not too sure of a library but I know online there are tons of places advertising it. Right now I am looking for some stuff on em from back in the day including boxsets.
Posted 3 years ago # -
I wouldn't mind buying a soft cover or hardcover copy if it was cheap enough, but money is really tight right now. That's why I just try to borrow everything from the library if it's available. That said, I still do really wanna read this book.
