I entered to see if there was something on him, and nothing came up. What I wanted to bring up is Mick is the oldest in Motley and the whole time he has had a disease called Ankylosing Spondylitis which actually hardens the spine turning it into a human coral reef, like having a spine made of concrete that's why you don't see him banging his head, rolling around like Nikki etc. He stands really still and just plays. It's gotten worse over time. He doesn't talk about it much. That's why he has drank massive amounts of Jackie D for years. I feel bad for him. We may see them get back together and we may not. Mick ain't doing so hot.

Motley Crue have a new album coming out, schedule for release on July 8, 2008 with the original line up. :D

So yeah, they are together and they've been working hard to write and record this album. It's called "The Dirt".

Let's hope that the launch on the road with a tour. That would be great but unlikely. Nikki is reported to have said that he's taking Sixx AM on the road about the time of the new Motley Crue album and like you said, Mick mightn't be up to it.

Poor Mick, I feel so bad for the guy. He's the strongest freaking guy in the world. Life tries so hard to take him down, I can tell you that. I really want to see Crue live at some point in my life, but I'd rather him do what's right for him. At least he's still making music, which is just about the only thing that makes him happy. I actually didn't know Nikki planned to tour Sixx: A.M., so that's pretty cool news. I'll want to see that. But still, here's to hoping Mick is well enough to tour some more!

mick was in cleveland last summer......bought a marshall amp from a local store.....was on his way to canada, i think..........store owner said he was friendly and looked well.................regarding usa doctors- mick would be better off going to cuba for treatment, where medical care is free.........and doctors, pharmacies, and drug companies are not involved in their heinous practices just to make bread.....and- the rest of the world knows about natural cures.....and things like magnetic therapy......anyway, i hope the cat is ok.......jim

I recently saw that doco about the Motley reunion tour a few years back, it said that Mick had been a virtual recluse for years and he had to have two hip replacements just to do that tour. It made out that that tour and getting back with the band had pretty much saved him. I came away from that doco with a huge amount of respect for the guy, he must have gone through so much fucking pain to come back and give the fans some fucking killer shows.

Amazing guy, and I'll bet he'll fight as hard as he can to stay with the band.

You shouldn't talk to me. Find better company. There's better people to know. You'll only end up like Rimbaud. Get shot by Verlaine...

Mick rocks. Saw him in jan 1990 when Crue was touring with Warrant. Didn't realize that there were medical issues, I just thought that he was one of those dark quiet types. Jack is one of my favs so everytime I have a drink, I will think of him.

Mick is totally underated as a guitar player, he is unfairly judged by those that came after instead of his own contemporaries.
Mick was never about the flashy guitar techniques of Vai and Satriani, nor the neo-classicalism of Malmsteen et al, but was more blues/feel based like Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page.

Mick Mars is one of my favourite guitarists. I also like about him that he isn't a flashy player, like so many others were in the 80s. I hope that something can be done about his illness, and there is a cure for him. I'd like to send my warmest wishes to Mick and keep on rocking. We all love you, Mick.

I caught a glimpse of Sixx talking about it on the tattoo show when he got a tatt of MM. It is really sad to think that you could consume all that alkie just to try and make the pain stop.

Hey Mick, I hope you'll read this. I've thought of something: Why don't you try some alternative healing method like Acupuncture of Crystal Healing. In many cases these methods can do something where other healing methods fail.
Good luck. I hope something will work to make it better.

    Love, Regina

I love Mick's riffs, his guitar work. I couldn't think of what Motley Crue would be with a different guitarist. Mick is just right for them. I really hope some cure can be found for him so that he can continue to do great work with his band. Keep rocking, Mick. We all love you.
