Grew up around a ton of musical influences, but I have always loved my Poison. I was hooked from the start! Did you know Poison began life in 1984 under the name Paris?

I started listening to Poison a couple years ago. My friends were having an 80s party, and I just loved the music. Now I am a Poison fanatic.

Talking about parties, my sister had her 18th birthday party at home in 1996. She had some really hot friends and it was a very hot evening. Anyways, the DJ was playing Nirvana and all this other grunge crap which meant, everyone was sitting around all depressed and thinking about how they were gonna kill themselves.

So I went to my room and came back with my 80s glam collection, Poison, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Ratt, Motley Crue & Kiss, you name it.

I said to the DJ, "start playing this otherwise you're fired" first song he put on was "Nothin' But A Good Time".

From that moment on, the party sprung to life. My sister's friend's started dancing and as the night wore on (and as they got a little more drunk) they started to remove optional clothing.

By the time the DJ played Girls!Girls!Girls!, I was 30 years old and in middle of the dancefloor surrounded by bare tits.

Think about it. From suicidal thoughts to dancing bouncing boobies. Only glam can do that folks.

Long live "Nothin' But A Good Time" the best motivational song written...

Been following Poison since they came out. Seen them about 20 times over their career and they have never failed to disappoint. I remember back during the Native Tongue tour when Lynyrd Skynyrd of all bands opened for them. That was an odd choice.

I was hooked on Poison when I heard Talk dirty to me. I can't say I got into them much after their album with Unskinny bop on it. I should check them out again, I've caught a few of the Rock of Love episodes and I really need to give their latest work a listen to.

Looks like I just might have found a home here. I've been a Poison fan for years. Rock of Love is great show, especially now that Lacey is gone. It would be even better if they'd let the man sing every week.

I'm with ya RockOfLove. Lacey was bigtime annoying. Personally I would prefer Jes to win out on Sunday, but anybody is better then Lacey.

Poison was definitely one of the better Glam bands out there, but Crue was still definitely better imho.
Been way too long since I have put on one of their records, so i'll have to change that!

I remember walking into the record shop in '86 and seeing the cover of 'Look What The Cat Dragged In' the first thing I thought was "who are these hot chicks!?!?!?!" After looking at it again I realised they were guys and I bought the album straight away. From then on I have been a diehard fan. I didn't really like Native Tongue much, but all their post 2000 stuff has been fantastic.

I have only seen them once when they toured Oz in '90. But if they came out again, I would travel to each and every show in all states.

I wasn't a Poison fan until the movie "Grind" came out and the soundtrack blew me away!

Poison were great in the 80s and they are still great today.

They are one of the few that are championing the 80s glam cause and they are introducing many teenagers to glam.

They still look fantastic. Not as good as they did in the 80s but good enough to pull chicks. Plus, there music hasn't gotten better and it hasn't gotten worse. No need to, they sell millions of albums.

yep, there are just some bands that stand the test of time better than others. And some where the singers voice doesn't start sounding like it's as old as it is. I'm glad poison's one of the ones that can still put on a good show and not just rely on what they did 20 years ago.

I'm hearing you and thinking Poison are over-rated. Perhaps when it comes to Poison, the music is a means to an end, and that end is to get girls excited.

From that point of view, they are very SUCCESSFUL.

So you saw your sisters titties? Ew gross man :P hahaha. I'm kidding.

Anyway even though Poison aren't the most technically talented band of the bunch I still love them long time <3 and they came out with fantastic music.

Poison are great musicians and great looking guys, too - what more could you want? I argue Glamsters' point that they're overrated - in fact most critics put them down and accuse them of being inferior muso's. They wrote some of the most iconic songs of the 80's.

Starr76, I love Bret's country solo stuff, as a matter of fact one of his songs on my Myspace page

    Hey I haven't heard those Paris demo's!! ;-)
