I was 13 when I first heard of Poison and Whitesnake, Slaughter, Greatwhite and Ratt and many other Glam bands. I grew up in the Glam period. I'm now in my 30's and still listen to the same bands. I also listen to Dio, Whitelion, Ozzy,
Lita, Aerosmith, Def Leppard, Europe, Xyz, Dokken and Motley Crue and the list is endless. I don't listen to the radio much. I just place all my Glam Cd's in my 200 disk player. I think that is enough music to listen to. LOL. This seems like a cool place and yes I just got here, so I'm new to the board but just thought I'd make a post.

H donnabright and so happy to meet you.

Yep I agree. You can go a whole lifetime on 200 CD's and still get so much rich variety. Just because you don't listen to "boring" music genre's doesn't make you any less cool. Besides, you already listen to the coolest stuff.

    Glamster,
Hello nice meeting you. Oh btw I have tons of cool videos, from Ratt, just got The DVD
a few months ago. I'm adding more to my collection. I have some Glam Videos already.
Dokken has cool videos also and so does Motley Crue. However for the videos I don't have I go to wzzo.com or youtube for all music videos I want to watch.
Well time for bed It's like 8 in the morning. LOL
I come back after I get some sleep.
    Cool board
    peace

Donna I have a list similar to your own. I started to listen with the help of older siblings since I was about 2, they are a good deal older than me, so from first light I remember Glam. :)

I grew up on the 70's stuff too. Since that's when I was a teen. I was into hard rock before I found glam. Still love it all. Rock is rock whatever the name.

As I have said before my dad was in a glam band in the 80's called Silent Threat. I was raised on all of that stuff Motley Crue, Poison, Sweet etc. I saw Guns and Roses with my dad when I was 11 years old in 1991. When I was ten was when I really took notice of music and once I heard it I played my dad's vinyls over and over buying them in CD. So I have been in love with this music forever.

discoverd Kiss in the 3rd grade, so i wore a shirt that said Kiss on it, no one knew them, i loved how they looked, how they sounded, and how i was the other one who knew who Peter Criss was, so I started watching Vh1 classic in my elementary days, soon we got a computer and a whole door of music opened, i was listening to motley by 5th, gnr by 7th, and WASP and New York Dolls by highschool, and yet no one knows anything from these bands other from guitar hero which fucking blows

Yeah guitar hero fucking sucks, I am sick and tired of hearing about how great that game is. Only for pop junkies who will forget the game in 2 years, the bands and songs.
