With regards to Download Festival; bands like steel panther were way more successful than bookers predicted in 2009, as well as having Motley Crue headlining the second stage (which was also packed.) and Def Leppard and Whitesnake to close the festival.
There is also talks of bands such as Cinderella and poison being there this year; with aerosmith already booked.
Sonisphere are apparently also trying to recreate the Cruefest line ups this year (I heard from a band who are playing this year at a gig)
And also if you look to European festivals (and possibly Sonisphere in the uk) Kiss are booked at a number of them in high up slots.
Obviously this is only in regard to a few festivals (and depends on what each persons perception of what glam rock is); but is it fair to say that Glam rock is making a comeback? Or not?

I dont think its near widespread enough for it to be a "Come Back". Only when modern glam Bands like VoJ or Dirty Penny gain more popularity.

it'd be great if it did, but its not making a comeback. Neither is rock in general, their are some awesome new rock bands but it will never be the most popular form of music again

Its hard to predict the future but history does tend to repeat itself so I'm sure rock or glam will become popular again in some form or other...

i think the youth could bring it back but it seems today everyone is so narrow minded about music all people care anymore is about rap and hardcore, at least thats what it is in hell hole ohio, or you get the stoners that listen to 90s stoner music constantly lol which i get stoned and listen to party music aka the glam

Stoners at my school listen to Bob Marley... anyhows I think that the non-narrow-minded people (aka us) Could certainly make it happen... which could make the narrow-minded people listen to glam. Ha ha

i think its a possibility but we would have start a glam army sort of and promote young glam bands and there music, me and the singer in my band were saying, even if younger people not into the music saw a bunch of kids (basically us :D ) playing 80s songs at bars they would wanna check it out and would probably be thinking "damn they're our age playing rock n roll"

some of the comments in favour have really good arguments, so i have changed my mind, dudes, it could very well be making a comeback, im 100% shure that glam will never be top of the mainstream pile, but it will ALLWAYS be the best fucking genre in the world

Music will - I've said it before, see. Theres a lot of us who dig and play this music, and a lot of us are in bands. And some of us are bound to get somewhere, and people will listen to anything - Glam Rock has a kinda' crazy fun that people will dig, glam rock themselves or not.

And the clothes/makeup is already flitering into ladies fashion, but it'll enver be accepted for a male to dress like us, not for a long, long time. You see people, you see the way we're treated! People are that fucking nuts. Eventually, maybe, but not yet.

But Glam is so hard-assed, audacious and loud, I know it aint one to get lost in the sands of time. Maybe we'll have the respected place that Jazz now occupies, someday, haha. We broke the rules as much as it did!
