The members of Metallica would destroy you if you ever called them glam, so no, hehe. As for Iron Maiden, I know for the most part that's a big no, but they may have gone through a glam phase at some point. If they did, I'm not aware of it. They're pretty theatrical, but not in a glam fashion.

I wouldn't say so.
Metallica was originally Thrash Metal, and the Thrash scene was very dismissive of Glam Metal...which is why many Thrash bands made fun of Pantera when they swapped their glitter for not shaving.
...that still cracks me up, "Dimebag Darrell" started out as "Diamond Darrell".

Iron Maiden are Heavy Metal. When they started their band i think they called their music new wave of British Heave Metal or something like that.

Metallica are Trash Metal. But i think they should have quit after Cliff Burtons death

Metallica are definitely glam. The glammest band I've ever seen. I mean, just look at them. Their image reminds me of a cheap drag act. Haven't you ever heard their debut album, 'Glitter Twinks'? If you ever meet them, be sure to tell them how great they were supporting Poison back in the day, even if they weren't quite as heavy as Poison. They'll surely thank you for it.

metallica were originaly thrash metal how ever...as years past buy there sound changed thus them becoming heavy metal.....ive never considered them glam as for maiden...ive never liked them so i wouldnt know

my brother in law is a huge Metallica fan. I saw James Hetfield sing at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert and he did a great job. He did "Stone Cold Crazy".

Neither Metalica nor Iron Maiden are glam, but two kick ass bands who inspired a shew load of others. Not as many as some bands, but they still were quite inspiring.

i dont have shitty taste in music, i have a wide variety taste in music. i like any genre of music with the words metal or rock in their title. Which if Metallica is heavy metal, it says metal now doesnt it? omg i never would have guessed.

Just for the record so as not to confuse our community: Metallica have never been glam! As for musical style, during a rare interview back in the late 80s Lars Ulrich was not comfortable with the term 'Thrash'.

Metallica were originally from Los Angeles but relocated to the San Francisco bay area. It's a well known fact that Lars Ulrich and James Hetfield were opposed to the L.A. glam movement classing glamsters as "Posers" and "Fake People" and also shouting abuse at Motley Crue.

I refer to the show Metal Mania on vh1c to be a show for glammy bands, mostly cause all the stuff is poison, wasp, cinderella, dokken, motley crue, whitesnake, ect. But you never hear any heavy stuff on the show, except for Metallica. The people who made the show obviously did that for a reason.
