This is the price you pay for fame. You come up with a killer song...a classic and then the lounge singers get a hold of it.

How painful is this? bad enough she's a gravelly throated eclipse of the heart bitch but to murder a classic is just tragic. Get a load of the accompanist. He's rocking out real hard.

is she supposed to be singing or has she got a frog in her throat?...i can't hear a goddamn word of the song!...i'm wondering how she got a job singing anywhere if that is her full-time singing voice.

I can't sing. I'm completely unable to hear any melodic sound coming from my mouth. The last thing I sang at karaoke -that actually sounded like a human being singing - (and it didn't come out too badly) was a CCR song..."Travelin' Band"...because it didn't have too many real notes in it, you basically just had to know the beat to it and be able to talk rhetoric. It was fairly easy cause I knew the words to heart.

Daydream Believer and Dancing Queen used to be my anthems...for karaoke anyway...but my vocals grew out of the latter.

when i had my bands...we only ever covered one song...and that was Wig Wam Bam...at the time, my vocals weren't that bad on that either...the other songs were my own written shite!

most things i used to be able to sing, my range outgrew...it's a shame really because it includes my favourites...i think the microphone fear could be a confidence thing.

That seriously lasted about 5 seconds into the song, and 18 seconds total from the start before I stopped it. Even if I had my coffee already, I could not tolerate that stuff. :(

She had a couple of huge hits in the 70s. :?

I've got no axe to grind about this. I was never really keen on her voice, but I didn't mind her hit singles. As for her doing a cover version of this song, I don't see what peoples problem with it is.

I remember when Lulu covered Bowies The Man Who Sold The World and my mate who was a massive Bowie fan really spat his dummy out and proclaimed that Bowie would hate it and probably try to get the song banned. I said I doubted he would do that seeing as he produced the song and also played saxophone on it.

Another mate of mine was ascathing about Rolf Harris recording Stairway To Heaven, so I asked him if he knew why Rolf had recorded it? He said no, so I explained that he had appeared on a TV show in Australia and they always asked their guests to sing that song, so Rolf did, and a lot of people loved it, so he recorded it and donated all the proceeds to charity, but it wasn't his idea to record it in the first place.

At the end of the day, if you like a song by a certain artist then listen to it, but if you don't, you know where the off button is.

I have no idea what you lot are talking about..this is classic...Bonnie has taken an average song and transformed it into something beautiful !!

I'm glad you took my advice about the off button.

She may not be flavour of the month here, but Jim Steinman obviously thought enough of her for him to go out of his way to get her to record an album for him.

Another thing to remember is that the recording is from a dodgy camcorder at a live gig so its hardly fair to judge her performance on this. I remember thinking Brian Connollys voice sounded horrible on a few recordings of live concerts that I've heard, but when I've seen him in real life, his voice sounded awesome and as good as on the records. Maybe Bonnie did a studio version that isn't that bad.
