If you could describe it, what did the 80's smell like to you?
    I'll go first...
    Budweiser, aquanet, and leaded gasoline.

I hadn't even thought about the "smell" of the 80's until now. Those are some strong memories. I think I remember most going to a concert. . . The night air was cool, breezy, and had just that hint of pot lingering on it. You could smell the Aquanet for miles, You could even smell the leather if you tried. And, you can't forget the smell of adrenaline. The excitement was so strong that you could honestly smell it.

I was there, but hell, it mostly smelled like death to me. Half my family died in the 80s. :( But I do recall smelling a lot of Aqua Net as well.

    1. I only alive in the 80s for 9 months
    2. I have no sense of smell.

I was alive and well throughout the entire decade. And, yes, Aquanet was THE hairspray of choice.

It smelled like plastic because of the transformers, He man, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Tiger Cat figurines I was mauling and playing with, sweat, spandex, leather, cheap beer (I know this to be true because my dad was in a glam band and I toured some places with him as a kid) Aqua net is right on! My mom and dad used to soak their hair with that shit, I remember all the pinkish purple cans of that stuff I'll never forget that sweet, stinging, chemical fume that just permeated our house, play doh because not only did I play with it I ate it! Somebody mentioned lipstick thats true, Chips Ahoy cookies, The Ghost Buster's cereal. Last but not least my aunt drove a 87' Honda Civic, she was baby sitting me when her glam rocker boyfriend called we picked up her boyfriend from a bar because he couldn't drive home, his make up was all smeared and his long hair a mess, he upchucked cheap beer and pretzels all over her back seat, on his leather pants, on his Poison T Shirt and she couldn't get the smell out! I know lovely memories.

Ya know, i got the refresher course at Rocklahoma, it was outdoors, so none of it was that strong, but after the storm when they put all of us in one building together and were serving free beer, damn, wet leather, adrinaline, soaked Aqua Net (cause it doesn't matter how much it rains water alone won't remove it), beer, and yeah, there were cops everywhere and they were still passing the drugs around. It was like stepping back to 1989.
