You're so right, that's why Sweet did the reverse rip on the Crue called "Crudley Mott" on the "A" album but i think this subject has been covered before on this post! cheers.

This is one band I have yet to check out. I mean I have heard "Fox on the Run" and "Ballroom Blitz". This stuff is right up my alley, my dad had a vinyl but I never got to fully listen to it. I think one of these days I'll buy one of their albums and it will be soon. So far from what I heard I am a fan.

Best Sweet song for me is "Live for Today" from 'Off the Record' .. kinda like a Teenage Rampage for adults:

Sweet is super sweet! lies in your eyes don't disguise tears that you cry, I'm not blind... That's my favorite song by sweet. All the other songs are pretty neat but the lyrics of this song are awesome.

SWEET were huge, I mean totally MASSIVE in their day. Bands like Journey and Status Quo were only support bands to them and that has to tell ya' something about them!
Albums to look out for, "Give Us A Wink!" and "Off The Record".
Also the U.S version of "Desolation Boulevard", but there are stacks more albums you need to get. The flip sides to many of their singles were quite often more interesting than the 'A' side.
Also check out some of 'Andy Scott's' SWEET albums; 'A' and 'Sweet-Life'.....both fantastic albums.

I'll be at 'Bilston, Birmingham' in June to see Sweet with Andy Scott, they can still pull it off. They're true professionals and play an awesome show.
    See ya there Aniseed.

My favorite hits: Blockbuster, Action (also check out the Def Leppard cover), Fox on the Run, Teenage Rampage, The 6-Teens.

Others: I confess to liking Eye Games, Call Me and Mother Earth from Cut Above the Rest (an underrated album that would have only been improved had B. Connolly not been fired). Then there's Cover Girl (the B-side to Love is Like Oxygen), which has riffs that sound like Spirit in the Sky and Foreigner's Cold as Ice. Guilty pleasures: Poppa Joe, which is silly but somehow infectious, and an obscure cover of the Beatles' Paperback Writer.

I'd like to bump this for Zabadak as i know i told him that this was hiding in the backlog.

Still my favourite 70s band, i have however learnt to love more bands, and appreciate different efforts and am not as centric as i used to be posting this.

But i definitely believe that Mr Scott is still rocking at his hardest today at 60, and even though he was propositioned by a guy wanting to dabble in rock funerals, in the man's own words he will not be giving it up anytime soon. And for anyonee with that fearless non-quitting opinion of their career, earns my highest respects. So i still believe that Sweet rocked both then and now.
