im not looking for huge lists of bands you think other people dont know or something i just mean is there 1 specific band or album you loved that wasnt among the big boys.

for me its the first kingdom come album.
i know they are a blatant wannabe zeppelin but i love that album.

although they'd left glam, and almost left the scene by 1982..i love what i've heard of Sweet's Identity Crisis...and they relesed it in a similar way to Sweet Fanny Adams...no singles..and even though there was only 3 of them, i love that album...because it reminds me of things i've felt.

Has to be between Kix, Wrathchild or Jetboy. 3 amazing bands! Ive recently come across loads of bands id never even heard of that could easily have gave the big boys a run for there money. especially around the time grunge was coming out. Shame that killed off most of them

Not a band but an artist, and he's called Russ Ballard. I bet very few of you here have ever heard of him, but you will realise know him well through his music once I've finished this article.

Originally he was in a band called the Roulettes who were the backing band for Adam Faith. I believe Adam was his manager after this and he worked with a lot of other artists that Faith was in charge of like Leo Sayer and Roger Daltrey.

Ballards major break came as front man of the band Argent and he wrote their hit single God Gave Rock And Roll To You, which was of course later covered by Kiss.

He also wrote Liar for Argent and that was covered by Three Dog Night, and he wrote a few songs for a band called Hello including New York Groove which Ace Frehley covered later.

After leaving Argent he has since released a good number of albums, some of which are brilliant, but his most famous work is songs that that have been hits for other bands. I doubt anyone on here will argue against him being just a bit special when you see the rest of his portfolio.

Someday We'll Be Together - Pointer Sisters
    I Surrender - Rainbow
I Don't Believe in Miracles - Colin Blundstone and Barbara Dickson amongst others.
You Can Do Magic - America
I Know There's Something Going On - Frida (From ABBA)
    Winning - Santana
So You Win Again - Hot Chocolate
Where Do We Go From Here - Sweet
    Free Me - Roger Daltrey
No More The Fool - Elkie Brooks
Since You've Been Gone - Rainbow

    Life isn't a dress rehearsal.

I was going to run with Blackboard Jungle or Rock City Angels but I think for the amount of music they put out there, Kix should be on the top of the list.

I love them all but my choice is Midnite Dynamite, but the ST album comes in at a real close second.
