I got a sense of deja vu the other day when I listened to the track "Yesterday's Hero" on Sweet's Platinum Rare CD - a 1990s collection of previously unreleased stuff. I would have sworn I was listening to a ripoff of the Babys' "Back on My Feet Again." But on closer inspection, it seems "Yesterday's Hero" was actually written first. If Sweet had only released this gem, it might have been the comeback they never had. As it is, it seems like a shameless case of musical plagiarism by John Waite & Co.

The song was not written by Sweet, someone else wrote it for Sweet but Sweet turned it down, it was then passed onto the Baby's but they didn't like the lyrics so John Waite re-wrote it which became Back on My Feet Again.

Ah, OK. I knew it was written by someone else, but I didn't realize the Babys had permission to use the song. I personally like Sweet's version better. They shouldn't have turned it down, in my opinion!

I'm not that keen on it if i'm honest, i prefered the Baby's version, if Brian had been the vocals on it then i think it would have been much better.

Agreed on Brian's absence. He was sorely missed. Have been listening to a collection of his solo stuff, and it's really good. Too bad it was never released as a proper album. Some of the demos are really rough; they would sound great cleaned up.

He was indeed, Love Is Like Oxygen, the single collection 1978 - 1982 has about 4 solo songs from Brian.
