Why is it that Cruefest is chocked full of shitty bands. It seems like if you sound remotly similar to Motley Crue you cant get on cruefest. Is it just me or is motley crue trying to be hip and current (aka midlife chrisis) and are unwilling to aknowlege that they are a glam band. I have a feeling that a major reason for this is Tommy. Now as awsome a drummer as he is, they all have said he is a follower who is always trying to be current. He had a rap and nu metal and alternative phase. Who sees what im talking about

    agree.
but i'm not complaining, i'd rather have them touring with shitty young bands than not touring at all.

Tommy's(not the other guys) mid-life crisis has been the Crue's biggest problem(once the smoke of drugs, alcohol & egos from the 80s cleared)! Nikki & Vince always seem to be ready to be the Crue(as well as good 'ol Mick, if health permits). Tommy's been wanting to be DJ "Mayhem" Lee for a while. He's even been through my town Dallas, TX with fuckin' Ludacris to DJ at some nightclubs! This friggin' nut fell real far from his tree!

He couldn't do a one time thing like Anthrax w/ Public Enemy, or Aerosmith w/ Run DMC? Get it out of your system and get back to business: MAKING THE FANS HAPPY!!

The Methods of Mayhem & Tommyland records were both pretty much flops. It's obvious music fans only want Tommy Lee drumming for the Crue!

I see the Cruefest as I did Ozzfest: Lure the young metal fans in with the new acts and then HIT 'EM with the REAL DEAL. School them on what a real metal concert is.

I'm glad to see them staying out there. But I'd much rather see them w/ one SOLID opening band, than five shitty bands(w/ the exception of Sixx AM, that is).

    CRUE! CRUE! CRUE!

    I've been to both cruefests,

    1 was awesome,
    Buckcherry was sick
    Sixx AM was awesome,
    Papa Roach really surprised me.

    2 was good too,
Mostly cause of the 2nd stage,
The main stage wasn't that good
but Shram was fucking awesome on the 2nd stage.

I love the idea that Motley is doing Cruefest, unfortunately like most of you I hate the bands that play on that show. I was lucky to catch Motley on the Carnival of Sins tour so I didn't have to sit through the garbage bands like Papa Roach. I wish Motley would bring in Crashdiet, Loud N Nasty, guys that are way better and more metal than the garbage that they have on their bill, but that will never happen. I think Nikki, Vince, and Mick are always going to be Motley, but Tommy like some have said doesn't know what the hell he is anymore. The guys a follower and he doesn't care who he has to make himself look like to get attention. it use to be that he let his talent speak for itself, but now he would rather be the band then just a member of a band. or the d.j. or the rapper or whatever else he whats to believe he can do.

you gotta think of it from a business perspective, if they brought crash diet on tour with them, then chances are everyone who is going probably would go anyways just to see crue, now if they bring Papa Roach then you can get a bunch of 15 year old girls to come also.

I'm from Boston and this year when they brought Godsmack out
people went crazy, there were pits on the lawn and it was just chaos,

from my point of view what they are trying to do is be the ultimate touring festival, and in order to do that they need to reach out to as many music fans as they can.
