I fucking hate grunge with a firey passion, my rythem guitar player thinks he's kurt cobain so we fight alot. to piss him off i played the song american hairband by tuff

ahh smells like teen spirt is too depressing for me man. I prefer glam any day. I have been listening to this band called Steel Panther and they pretty much say it all for me and so does american hair band by tuff. ZGive pearl jam and eddie a big fuck you!

Grunge sucks it really bad, a bunch of whiney, smelly, wannabe homeless, emo precursor shit eaters. If you think about it after grunge pretty much all music sucked, rock hasn't recovered since Cobain and his shower deficient sulkers poisoned the Jack Daniels well. Thats my opinion.

One of my friends is into grunge and she constantly bitches about hair metal, but I've found a solution. Every time she opens her mouth to hang shit on glam, I start belting out 'Nothin but a good time' by Poison, at the top of my lungs! She hates it.

nice! that's a great way to piss off a grunge fuck. i tried useing hairspray on my gringe friend mikey to piss him off but he didn't mind so i waited for him to fall asleep and i put lipstick and eyes shadow on him, so he ended up looking like the singer of pretty boy floyd when he woke up

Both great stories, fuck grunge people. Do you ever hear of a Grunglahoma? Nope theres Rocklahoma though. Ever hear of Grunge band reunions? Nope but you hear about Poison, Ratt, etc. reunions all the time. Those people need to face it that grunge sucked donkey cock, and the media spews this bull shit on how grunge replaced glam over night, not true, hair metal was still popular even past Kurt and his smelly, shower deficient, wanna be homeless jerk wads mumbled and whined about how sucky the world was to them, how Ronald Reagan was a jerk who ruined their future prospects (I am not political but read any song or interview with one of these brain dead butts and thats what you hear) and any show of talent in any musician showed they were a sell out. Fuck them. We need to just push them in a damn shower and scrub their smelly asses down.

I personally like Grunge. Its an interesting genre and it did open a lot of doors in music for indie and alternative rock. I like classic rock and glam more though. Nirvana will all ways be one of my favorite bands because Kurt Cobain's lyrics spoke to me and inspired me in my writing, but before I even discovered Nirvana I was listening to The Beatles, Motley Crue, Metallica, and some others I can't think of right now. I used to be a total Grunge guy and dress that way, but ever since I discovered David Bowie, I have been more interested in Glam. Due to the stupid conservative beliefs of my area I can't dress Glam which is fucking ridiculous without being labeled a transsexual. I only like Grunge for the down to earth lyrics because I can identify with it and its style of loud guitars and feedback. Glam, Metal, and classic rock do speak to me more though than Grunge and I see glam as a far more rebellious genre anyway. Cobain was a music genius, but he can't touch Nikki Sixx or David Bowie. Frankly I don't stick to just one genre, I stick to multiple. I don't want to start any kind of verbal war because I know how many people hate Grunge on here, but I am not a Grunge rocker anymore. I just want people to respect other genres for what they did for music in general. Music is a universal language and is something that I cannot live without. I recognize that we do not like the same thing which is completely normal. I am just stating where I come from in terms of my interest. I am just a recent convert to Glam. Funny how you said we need to scrub them down lol. They are not manly enough to wear makeup or high heels like Glam rockers are.

Zeitgeist take a shower... Just joking. No dude, my comment might of sounded harsh but don't really take me seriously. I mean I don't like Grunge for the most part I admit but I don't mind some of the more metal inflected stuff. I have a variety of musical interests that would make anybody on this forum cringe. As I have said all musical taste is relative, there is no wrong or right, my opinion on grunge is just that, a opinion. I know about the wearing glam thing, I mean shit in my more "open" community I get harassed by people and stopped by the police all the time just because I look like a leather devil from hell. You just can't win I guess. Welcome to the fold dude.

Zeitgeist that reminds me of the great movie "Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny". At the end when the credits roll the lyrics talk about how every form of music has tried to destroy the metal but they failed. That just reminded me of that.

I know its from a song that was in that movie called "The Metal" and its all about that. That song is so true. Even though I like Grunge, what it said in the song was true. If you look at it Grunge did try to kill metal and it did until Kurt Cobain died and things got weak. Now every Grunge band is dead except for Pearl Jam and Alice In Chains, but Alice is pretty much dead in my book because Layne Staley died. Soundgarden came close to reuniting recently but without Chris Cornell. But Grunge is far from making a comeback. The first Grunge band of the 80s Green River reunited and have said they want to do more things together, but they can't until Pearl Jam finishes touring because two of its members are in PJ. I think Grunge died with Kurt Cobain. Metal pretty much rose from the ashes and now it is very powerful again, minus all that Nu Metal shit. So pretty much Metal conquered Grunge and is better today. I am just stating the facts and what I have read.

I actually listened to Alice In Chains and Soundgarden in Junior High and I still like them. Their stuff kicks ass, I agree with about grunge dying when Kurt did, I do know Green River and of course Pearl Jam. Not my favorite bands but Alice In Chains and fucking Soundgarden rocked. My neighbor across the street used to get pissed at me I used to blast Warrant's "Cherry Pie" album and Soundgarden's "Superunknown" album. Didn't give a shit either.
