Nikki Sixx wrote The Heroin Diaries while he was drugged up beyond belief on heroin and crack, and he actually had good spelling and grammar. Come on bro, is it that hard to type a few extra letters?

Do you really think that those diary entries weren't edited? He even says at the start that most of them were missing. And he spells 'enough' like "enuff" in it as well.

Okay, tonight does seem to be my night to lose my temper. Thus stated, I really feel like a lot of people are being very childish about things. I was alive BIT Day, and you know what music was just called rock and roll or metal. We didn't spend all of our time trashing this or that because we didn't like it. I, however, was unfamiliar with "emo" music. So, I did a bit of research. Guess what, Skid Row's famed Baz, is considered "emo" these days. There were a hell of a lot of us back then that got depressed. Some turned to Booze, some turned to drugs, some just gave up and ended it. There were plenty of times back then when I considered doing the same thing. And, guess what, my music is what saved me. It is what has brought me through more trials and tribulations than most of you will ever experience. Who knows, maybe I was just a "emo glitter kid". We didn't label people. I hate it when people do that. It is simply a sign of their ineptitude and ignorance of life. There is music out there that I consider to be crap. I choose to not listen to it. I don't speak ill of it, because there are people who have reasons why they listen to what I consider to be crap. I can respect that choice that they have made. So, if you guys want to trash someone, make it me. I'm old enough to deal with it and not let it bother me. But everytime you gripe about another form of music, just remember that someone else is thinking the same thing about what you listen to. I think if we took a poll, we would find that almost everyone on here listens to more than one type of music. Stop bitching and hating on each other. This isn't the place for hate. Glam was about fun times. It was about pissing off authority figures. It was about making out with the radio blaring. It was Sex, Drugs, & Rock 'n Roll. We loved it then and we love it now. I can still put on the look that I had in teh 80s and fit in to just about any club I go to. I can appreciate music for musics sake. No, I don't piss glitter. I liked Nirvana. I enjoyed the grunge look. I still have a pair of jeans from BIT Day that are ripped to hell and back. They are maroon, I wore a black turtleneck and button strewn and patch covered jean vest with them. I wore boots with 4 inch heals, and my hair was as big as Texas. This was an everyday thing for me. When I went back to my room at the end of the day, I would still light the candles, turn out the lights, put my music on, and look at the pics on my walls. I was a kid, in fact I was a fucking brat! It was just part of the scene. My parents didn't approve, so of course I did it. And as far as the spelling issue of Nikki Sixx goes, ask around to people who were alive and old enough to read back then. It was a common thing. We used z not s to end wordz. That'z just how it was. This is cyber space. If someone wants to use shortcuts on spelling, sho the fuck carez. I know that I don't. So, basically, let me say this -- not as a moderator, but as a glam fan, a mom, and as a human being -- Grow the FUCK UP!

Thanks for that, Mama Bear. You said pretty much all that had to be said.

I myself haven't dissed emo, 'cause it's not what I do. Even though I'm not really into the music, I still show respect to people who do like it. It's their choice what they want to listen to and I don't see why anyone should disrespect them for that.

I respect depressed people, I have also had problems with depression in the past. I turned to sex, drugs, and alcohol, and about a year ago I started taking mood stabilizers, as well as adderall(the adderall isn't necessarily an anti-depressent, but it gave me confidence in school and everyday life). The sex, drugs and alcohol still work pretty well too, but not in the long run.

I'm not dissing on the music, some of it is actually pretty good. What I don't like is all the little 12-16 year olds, who make up a majority of the "emo kids". Many of them think that having a small fight with their boyfriend, girlfriend, or their parents is the end of the world. Last year, a girl tried to kill herself because she got in a fight with her parents over some trivial thing. There are far worse things in life than not getting asked to a dance, being turned down by a crush, bad grades, and all of that bullshit.

I know that there are lots of kids in the emo scene who aren't like this at all, but the majority of the kids I have met through high school are whiny little bastards.

They need to realize life could be worse
They are lucky to live in america where they have freedom, and the chance to live life to the fullest. They don't have to work in sweat shops, and they have access to vaccines so they can live a healthy life.

So in conclusion, emo music can be badass, some people in the "emo" group at school can be tight, and sorry about the whole spelling thing, I'll ease up on that shit.

I think that pretty much goes for the majority of teenagers...no matter what music they listen to.

A few weeks back I was out skating, and a carload of emo kids yelled "NICE SKATEBOARD FAGGOT!" at me as they drove by.
I thought that was pretty funny considering so many people stereotype Emo kids as being gay, and I wasn't wearing any makeup or anything.

I completely agree with Bronco, it's all about the fun. It's about having music that you can relate to and understand.

I am not a fan of 'emo' at all...but...can't we all just get along? People listen to what they listen to..music is music. And obviously a lot of it is good enough to have fans. I just think it's rediculous when people get TOO far into the scene and start cutting themselves up.

Music should be more of a cure for a person to relax to after a hard as hell stressful day out doing whatever they were doing. It wasn't put out there for people to say which genre is better..ect. But, people do that...I even do that.

LOL, YEH, THIS IS A RANT GUYS AND GIRLS, DONT MIND IT

Reading most of the posts on this thread made me sad, you know.

You know why I joined this forum? I had been reading all the posts and stuff on here for about a year, but I never actually signed up, untill I read a post by Admin in the now removed 'Newbies Say Hi' forum, where he said something about all of the communities opinions, however different, as valued as the last. That hit me, you know? I've been part of online communities before - I do, like, internet roleplaying, if anyone knows what that is... Its all literary stuff, based on writing skill. And those places were rife, fucking rife, with elitism, genocide, self-obsession... It really took me to find out that there was a community without that bullshit. So I signed up, right away!

And you know, when Bomber and Cherry had that argument with Hemps on that thread I made, I was fuckin' terrified, because I thought it might have jeoprodised that ideal, you know? Because, its one of the rules here that people arent allowed to attack other peoples opinions- Admin and the Moderators keep that rule in tact beautifully, actually, from what I've seen... And its a rule I really like. And I was worried that that would jeoprodise that, that there'd be that snarling, back-stabbing bullshit that haunts most online communities.

I mean, generally, from the stuff I read here, everyone bloody well likes eachother. Its great!

But, you know, it pisses me off that people would so openly assault one another here, both on their views of another genere/scene, whatever, and at someone who's part of that genere/scene. That doesnt do anything but get people pissed off at eachother and it starts shit. To me, that doesn't belong here, you know?

    Uh....

    Anyway....

I used to like Rites of Spring, actually, whenever they called it 'Emotive Hardcore', or 'Emotional Punk', 'cause it was like... 'Hardcore Punk' but... Emotional/Emotive.

    Ooo-eer.

    ''Ey, Eddie?'
    '[Whistling]'
    'Eddie.'
    '[Whistling]'
    'Eddie.'
    'Guy?'
'Ya know da whole... Punk fing?'
    'Yeah.'
'Its a bit... Emotionless. Aint it?'
    ''Owja mean?'
'Its not very...Fotful. 'Er aint relly much to it.'
    'Its quite angry, yeh.'
'Why dont we do some emotive stuff, wif punk?'
'Yeh yeh. But make it harder so we aint wusses.'
    'Yeah. Like, Emotive Hardcore.'
    'Yehh, yehh. Emo, for short!'
    'Like dat gas cumpn'y!'
    'Yeah!'

    You know?

Emo isn't my cup of tea. I don't like it, the bands fucking annoy me and I get sick of the sad sack shit lyrics. That being said that is just my opinion, I mean I take alot of shit for liking the music I do and dressing the way I do, I am not going to piss on someone because their emo or dress that way. If they want to do that fine with me. I find it kind of obnoxious that people personally attack anybody for liking a genre of music. Me I just try to be brutally honest in my opinions, when I don't like something I don't hold back but I try not to attack people personally. Everybody is entitled to their opinion. I am sure there is alot of you glam rockers who get shit, why act like the neadrathals and dish it out on somebody else?

    KarKing,

You are right. We try the best that we can to keep this place clean but to have it squeaky clean would be hypocritical of us.

Plus, our sensitivities are different. In an instance where someone is hurt, another person is enlighted! so moderating that is a very fine line and a gray area.

So we have added an "Ignore" feature. If you don't like someones attitude or what they have to say, you can make them non existant. You can find the Ignore link at the bottom of their posts.

Click it and they are gone forever!

I encourage you to try it.
