I have yet to see a thread on one of the sleaziest glam punkabilly bands in this country. From the 70's until now they kick major ass! Dominatrix guitarist and 50's crooner vocalist with a snarl who cross dresses on stage it don't get any better than that! This is a video from one of my favorites of theirs, Ultra Twist.

Dude, can you suggest more bands which are similar to these guys? I know about Nekromantics, Batmobile, and Rev Horton Heat and all that, but they're the only ones I know.

All those are good, the Cramps pretty much started the psychobilly thing. They lived in Sacramento and used to visit my hometown when I was a kid, my dad's bassist knew them and used to hang out with them. They were really into 50's rockabilly and 60's garage punk and surf. They moved to New York and used to play at CBGB's with the Ramones alot. Shit I saw Nekromantics and Horton Heat at a rockabilly festival, my friends said I fit right in but I just grease my hair back because it's easy to brush and I am lazy, the only thing was my bullet and studded bullet and my Poison T Shirt seperated me from the rest as well as my bandana. Another psychobilly band you should check out from back in the day is the Meteors, and the Slanderin' are really fucking awesome as well as Horrorpops their like a punk glamabilly band. Funny thing is alot of psychobilly has glam elements in it. Cramps in the 70's loved Alice Cooper, Sweet, David Bowie, Slade etc. and threw that into the mix. Not only that the lead singer Lux Interior loves cross dressing, him and his wife Poison Ivy who is a dominatrix in real life go clothes shopping together. Seen them live their just fucking insane!

thanks, bud. Psychobilly is pretty awesome. Before I only listened to Buddy Holly, Jerry Lewis, Elvis and other old rockabilly singers. the stray cats were the only "new" rockabilly I listened to.

Yeah I am with you there! I really only listen to old Sun Records stuff. My grandpa doesn't like glam but he loves this stuff. I have some old 45's and some new re issued vinyl of people like Link Wray, Sonny Burgess, Hasil Adkins and stuff like that. The only new I listen to is Stray Cats, Blood shot bill and three bad jacks which you should check out.

RIP Lux. As you said in that brilliant cover of Rockin' Bones "Bury me with a phonograph and some rock n' roll records/so I can rock my way right out of this land". You'll be sorely missed glamabilly sleaze king!

Bikini Girls with Machine Guns! Naked Girl Falling Down the Stairs! Thanks for reminding me of that song N1v3n! Only Lux's twisted brain could come up with cool song titles and songs like that. He'll be sorely missed and their won't be another like him. Wonder if Cramps will carry on, kinda hope they don't, Lux was the heart of the band along with his wife.

- RockLibertyWarriorthe only reason I started to watch '3rd Rock from the Sun' was because the theme tune reminded me of The Cramps
