I've been pondering this a lot lately.
I have some elitist metalhead friends who oppose glam 100%.
I am trying to explain to them that all metal genres are SOMEWHAT related to each other.
    Particularly thrash and glam.

Example: Skid Row consisted of a bunch of pretty boys who were generally regarded as glam / hair metal. But their actual music style leaned more towards thrash.

Do you know of any other bands like this?
Than combined elements of glam and another type of music?

How about any bands that started off playing glam metal
but later changed into something else?
I know there are a lot of those, I just can't think of any right now!
Than again, it is 5:30 in the morning.

hahaha.. It's 2:30am over here where I live.

There are a lot of underground glam bands who have the speed, energy, and in-your-face I-don't-give-a-fuck attitude of punk/hardcore, namely the Orphan Punks and the Glamour Punks.

Blessed By a Broken Heart plays a mix of both glam and metalcore. I'm not much of a metalcore fan myself, but i dig them.

Oh, and I find metalhead elitists pretty fucking annoying. (had to double post since I can't edit my posts.)

Punk/Glam hybrid bands are definitely out there, as are heavy metal bands with a glam look, or glam influences to their sound. Some try to deny there being any kind of connection, even when it's out there in plain sight for all to see.

Metalcore and glam? Really? That's an interesting combination! I actually discovered a ton of bands who blend glam with multiple genres, and I did a huge blog about it on my myspace! :P

an early version of Alice In Chains used to be a glam band of sorts. they went by Alice N' Chains and wore make-up. along with glammy pop (suffragette city) tunes they used to play Slayer covers and the likes.

Pantara of course started out on the glam side

    Hello !!!!
I believe my band is one of these hybrid bands, It has 80's glam lyrics ie- sex, drugs & rockn, fast cars, trashy women & life on the edge mixed with heavy riffs & double kick drums. I like to refer to it as - Glamthrash lol, Some say it's like old guns n roses, motley crue, skidrow etc crossed with metallica, slayer, exodus, testament etc. If anyone wants to check it out you can have a listen to the demo tracks at- http://www.myspace.com/phukkah
You may as well add me as a friend & let me know what you think of our Glamthrash from Australia Cheers !!!!!

They call their style of music "glamcore". As amusing as that sounds their actually a pretty good band, and they'll grow on you after a couple listens despite the fact that the singer sounds emo as fuck.

i just checked out Blessed By a Broken Heart, they are not that bad. don't really like the singers voice but the music is really good. they remind me of Avenged Sevenfold and Atreyu a lot and some what of a lighter Bullet For My Valentine

A good mixer can put anything together and make it sound good. I like the idea of seeing certain things mixed, but not everything will be the best for everyones interest (what I might like, you might hate).

I don't like Metalcore at all, especially not with the emo influences or emo singing, but I do have to applaud them for at least trying to incorporate some glam, although that isn't enough to make up for terrible singing or crappy Metalcore parts.
