BulletBoys

The BulletBoys were unfairly labelled as a Van Halen clone due to vocalist Marq Torien’s (one-time Ratt guitarist) onstage antics, and their association with producer Ted Templeman. They enjoyed massive stardom on the tail end of the L.A. glam movement, but their glory days faded as fast as they arrived.

Current Members (Edit)

  • Marq Torien – vocals and guitars
  • Mick Sweda - guitars
  • Lonnie Vencent - bass
  • Jimmy D’Anda - drums

Intro (Edit)

The BulletBoys were unfairly labelled as a Van Halen clone due to vocalist Marq Torien’s (one-time Ratt guitarist) onstage antics, and their association with producer Ted Templeman. They enjoyed massive stardom on the tail end of the L.A. glam movement, but their glory days faded as fast as they arrived.

Torien, guitarist Mick Sweda and bassist Lonnie Vencent had played together (briefly) in King Kobra. The three of them left that band and rounded out the BulletBoys line-up with drummer Jimmy D’Anda. The debut album shot up the charts on its way to platinum sales, backed by the debut single “Smooth Up In Ya”, but then the band went silent. Torien had vocal troubles during the recording of Freakshow, and by the time it was released three years after the debut, the music scene had changed drastically.

History (Edit)

After the release of Za-Za, the group lost its major label deal and half of the band. By 1995 guitarist Thomas Pittam and drummer Robby Karras Humeniuk were in, but for the 1998 club tour D.J. Ashba had replaced Pittam.

The original band reformed to record some new tracks for the Greatest Hits album before new writing began with guitarist Jason Hook. In 2003 a new BulletBoys album was finally released, with Torien being the only one listed in the credits!

By 2009, with the release of 10c Billionaire, the band consisted of Tory Stoffregen (guitar), Rob Lane (bass) and Ryche Green (drums). Fame was short but sweet for the BulletBoys, however their debut will forever remain a sleaze classic.

BulletBoys is by far the Best Live Rock Show that you will see! They may not have been as big as some of the other groups from that era but?trust me?they blow everyone else off the freakin stage! Not even close and I know that even most of those bands will agree!
